Ehm... no, thank you.

Nobody told me that Christophe Decarnin left one of my favourite brand. What's next, Miuccia Prada leaving spontaneously Prada? Oh lord, what's the world gonna be like!
The new designer of the french brand, Olivier Rousteing, is a really hot guy. Really. But really, his clothes ain't just as hot as him. When I was watching the show I was like what the hell, then discovered that there was no Christophe anymore. *SIGHS*
I like the shorts, they're fine, and also the dresses and the jackets (well, not all of them), they have a really great texture. The flower dress is a good idea and obviously something new and fresh for Balmain, not as punk and rock'n'roll as the past works... even if he made it look like a pillow. I really don't understand that optical black/white theme, it would've been great in other colors and materials. Christophe would've rocked it with gems, paillettes and fringes.

HOT

NOT

I'm not an expert, maybe I'm wrong, but let's just make a comparison:

(I fell in love with Balmain in 2008 because of these pants, I swear.)

heh... I'm just saying. Maybe it's just a question of tastes 'cause I'm kind of a punkophile... I don't know, what do you think?

studded kisses,

  1. I'm as devastaded as you are about this... where are the studs? leather? and all that black??...
I do think though Decarnin was designing very similar collections.. he didn't evolve that much.. he stayed in the 'rockstar/punk" look but.. still.. I loved him!
I liked Balmain's new collection, it's a fresh new thing for the brand, a different style, lots of textures and prints.. but.. I don't think it fits my aesthethics anymore.. I'm still into the punk vibes and I don't see that in the new collection. I'm sad.
..oh and funny what you said about the bag I'm currently working on.. it's also ZERO my style.. but as a designer I gotta do what I gotta do, and that is to keep my clients happy.. I just hate to have clients that are so different to me.. I hate making floral dresses with ruffles and preppy accents.. maybe one day I'll have my own store and won't have to work upon request anymore... I'll wish upon a star!
